Choosing a Tree to Complement Your Garden Plaque

Gift Tree

Of course, you can buy a KeepStake on its own, however, many customers choose to complete the gift by presenting the garden plaque along with a packet of seeds or a young tree.

We can supply four types of tree seeds - chosen to be of special interest in each of the four seasons. Our current selection is crab apple tree seeds (spring), pear tree seeds (summer), strawberry tree seeds (autumn) or norway spruce seeds (Christmas/winter). Choosing a tree with special interest in the season of the event you are planting the garden plaque and tree to mark, provides a wonderful annual reminder of the purpose of the tree. A lovely place to revisit, even sitting under to reflect and remember the event it was planted to mark.

If you would like some expert advice on picking a tree to accompany your garden plaque, we recommend that you visit the Royal Horticultural Society's website to access their plant selector. This is a really useful tool which allows you to select your preferred tree characteristics, colour, growth, hardiness and soil type. It  is useful to consider the amount of space you have, the likely height if the mature tree and soil conditions. Looking around you local area to see which trees are thriving can be a very good start. Once you pick the type of tree you would like to complement your garden plaque, either visit your local garden centre or visit one of our online partners Tree2mydoor and Trees Direct based in the UK and The Gift Tree Company based in Ireland. These companies can deliver a wide range of young trees direct to your home.

If the KeepStake tree plaque is a gift and you are just not sure what type of tree would be best to give, why not consider adding National Garden Gift Vouchers. these can be used in most local and national garden centres and allow the recipient to choose the tree themselves. Check where you can spend National Garden Gift Vouchers by typing in your postcode and finding all outlets near you.
